Taiwan Releases New Funding Assistances For Various Causes

The Republic of China (Taiwan) has again come to the aid of Solomon Islands by providing funding towards various causes in Solomon Islands. These include the sum of SBD$398,089.17 towards relief assistance for the earthquake- stricken people of Makira-Ulawa Province and southern region of Malaita Province, a sum of SBD$6,005,173.88 for infrastructure projects for the National Referral Hospital and a total sum of SBD$2,250,477.70 for solar-power systems for the Kumanibae Development Centre of East Choiseul Constituency and Tiparere Development Centre of West New Georgia/Vonavona Constituency. PM launches E-Passport, Border Control Management System

The Government has launched the Electronic Passport and Border Control Management System, just over a year since it signed an agreement with IRIS Corporation Berhad for installation of a new travel and border management security system. The project is the first of its kind in the Pacific region and also the first successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model commissioned by the Democratic Coalition for Change Government (DCCG) under a Build-Own-Operate and Transfer model.
